Before pictures of trees and house

So here are some pictures of the trees before we had them cut down.

Maple that was cut down.

Alright I admit I am really terrible about blogging!

Alot of things have been going on around here and I seem to totally forget about this. Well now that christmas is over, I figure I could write a little about what we have been doing to our house. We are doing a big remodel to our house. We are adding a 2 car garage with rooms above. Yhe bottom floor has to entryways added, one to the bottom floor and one to the upper floor. There is also a half bath in the garage. And along the back is my laundry room/ pantry. Upstairs will be a bedroom, office, bathroom, sewing room(yeah!), and another family room. We will turn our old bedroom into a room for our oldest and paint the room our girls now share for our younger girl.

All this started the middle of november, a little late I know but that is when we finally got the loan. We had 3 very large trees cut down in our front and side yard. 2 were pine trees that were becoming a danger. One strong gust of wind and they would have hit our house. I was actually afraid when high winds were coming. Several neighbors had had this happen recently. We also had a maple taken down, it was rotting and in the way of the new addition. But not to worry, we still have at least 20 in the back yard!

I can tell you it was amazing how they can cut these trees down and not hit the powerlines or the house! It was totally worth the money to have professionals do them. They cut 3 trees down and ground up the stump to the maple in 1 day! They came back another day and ground up the pine stumps.

Well I will start another post and put pictures of the tree cutting up. And it is amazing that the amount of light we get now!

Amigurumi

Did I know what this was a few months ago? Not really. Even though I had crocheted like this before I didn't know it had a name. Amigurumi is crocheting in rounds of single crochet. This is mostly to make animals and other stuffed toys. So here are a few that I have done. Some are in my shop for sale and some have been sold, but I can make more.

Lots of baby quilts!

Her are a few of the baby rag quilts that I have in my shop. Each square is stitched with an X to keep the batting from shifting. Then each square is securely sewn to each other in a pattern. Next I clip all the raw edges. Then I wash the quilt to start the ragging process. These are very warm and cuddly for your little one. Each is made with several cooridinating flannel fabrics. I also use a natural batting in between the flannel. I prefer the flannel because it is so soft and comfy.

BabyBotties!

I've been busy making baby booties. These are nice and comfy, warm, stay on their feet booties. You know that once babies find their feet, their favorite thing is to take off their socks. So with these booties on they can't get them off.
The little football one's are made with recycled jeans!

Guess it's been a while

But things in life can get in the way. We have had alot of home projects that needed to be done. We got a new septic system put in, yeah! We had also torn down our very old garage, still need to build a new one. We alos had a little problem with our boiler. It decided to quit working when it got cold here, of course. The blower quit working and we thought that was the problem, but after replacing it it still didn't work. Well I went to the store and bought some space heaters so we had some heat at least. We finally figured it out that it needed to be cleaned really well. We had cleaned the burners before, but never knew you had to take the whole box apart and clean in there. So after about 2 days worth of cleaning and resealing, we had a working boiler.

Well now that it's getting to be winter out, which I hate to go out in alot of snow, I can maybe get a little blogging done.
